Area for speech therapy
The Speech Therapy Area belongs to the area for basic learning skills support. The speech therapy intervention is carried out individually and in groups.
The individual attention is centred around the work of the functional aspects (reflex extinction, mastication, deglution, breathing and phonoarticular praxias) and the communicative aspects. It covers the stimulation of the communicative prerequisites (attention, imitation, turns, ...), up until the reinforcing of oral language in its three dimensions (form, content and use) and the written language following the constructivist approach.

In the case of pupils who do not have oral language, or that it is very precarious, different Alternative and/or Increased Communication Systems are used: graphic/visual systems (real objects, photographs and Pictorial Symbols) and gesture/manual Systems: natural gestures, signs, ...

The group intervention is centred around stimulation of the oral language and generalization of the Alternative Communication Systems using other contexts and flexible grouping in sessions supported by two characters created in the centre.
